The concert program includes leader’s own compositions and pieces from the Trio last CD – “Hendrix Piano”. Such hits as Hey Joe, Crosstown Traffic, Angel or Little Wing are the inspiration to improvise with the use of the language of contemporary jazz.
„Hendrix Piano” is the first ever jazz album presents Hendrix music in the piano jazz trio.

Artur Dutkiewicz Trio style combines classic jazz with the sound of modern jazz trio. Strong expression intertwines with almost contemplative moments in the solo cadenzas.


Artur Dutkiewicz

Polish jazz pianist, composer, born in Pińczów (Poland) in 1958. He graduated from The Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland) with distinction. Dutkiewicz was a finalist of the Thelonious Monk Competition in Washington, USA. He was the first Polish musician who played solo recital at MIDEM in Cannes in 1988. He performed as a pianist and an actor also (muzitor) in contemporary Instrumental Theater (Gdynia, Poland). He is a leader of the Artur Dutkiewicz Trio playing modern jazz.

Dutkiewicz took part in many jazz and music festivals around the world such as: Festival Kleiner Bunchen – Bern, Northsea Jazz Festival – Hague, Jazz Jamboree – Warsaw, Arhus Festuge – Arhus Denmark, Jazz Ost West – Nuremberg, MIDEM – Cannes, Music Oggi – Milan, Festival D`Europe Centrale – Paris, Festival Opera De Paris Bastille, Jazz Pianists Festival – Kalisz, Europe XXL – Vienna, Sziget Festival – Budapest, Carthage Jazz Festival, Jazz Plaza Festival – Havana, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, Glasgow Jazz Festival, Duesseldorf Jazz Rally, World Culture Festival – Berlin, Notturni in Palestro Festival – Milan.

In July 2011 Artur Dutkiewicz performed on the Olympic Stadium in Berlin at the World Culture Festival. Especially for this event he arranged and played in a group of pianists from around the world the piece for 30 pianos. Solo improvisations he performed with the world-renowned pianist Cyprien Katsaris. The concert which was heard by 30 thousand people, was an expression of respect for the diversity of cultures and the message of peace to the world. Artur Dutkiewicz is also one of the few jazz pianists in Europe, who play solo. He presented his solo recitals in many concert halls; from USA to China. In the course of his artistic life Dutkiewicz has had a chance to cooperate with Polish and internationally renowned jazz musicians, among others: Tomasz Szukalski, with whom he played in duo and quartet for over 20 years, also with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Urszula Dudziak, Tadeusz Nalepa, Carlos Johnson, Deborah Brown, Michelle Hendrics, Alaine Brunet, Pierre Michelot, Hiram Bulock and many others.

He recorded 5 albums as a leader and many more with other artists.


Łukasz Żyta – drums

One of the best Polish drummers, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice, the faculty of Jazz and Popular Music (1998). He debuted on the jazz scene in 1993, taking part in the competition for the Jazz Juniors in Krakow with a team Youth Formation. With a team Joint Venture was awarded first prize at the festival in 1995, the Festival of Jazz Standards in Siedlce (1996) and the prize for most promising group in the Europe Jazz Contest in Hoelaart (1996). He was awarded the First Prize jazz drummers in Grodzisk Mazowiecki (1998). He also received an individual award at the Festival of Jazz on the Odra in Wroclaw (1998). He collaborated with musicians such as: Janusz Muniak, Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski, Tomasz Szukalski, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Grazyna Auguścik, Urszula Dudziak, Ewa Bem, Jaromir Honzak, Lee Konitz, Bennie Maupin, Dino Saluzzi, David Murray, David Friedman, Bobby Watson, Brad Terry.


Paweł Puszczało – double bass

Most talented Polish young jazz bassist generation. Graduate of the Jazz Academy of Music in Katowice / Poland /. Previously, he graduated with honors from the National Secondary Music School im. Frederic Chopin in Warsaw in the bass class. He cooperates with the leading Polish jazz musicians.
